This product contains a unique blend of nutrients to help support you and your baby through conception and pregnancy. Designed by nutritionists, we had included Department of health recommended levels of Vitamin D and folate (folic Acid)3, plus DHA from algae, organic kale and spinach powders. Folate supplements have been shown to increase maternal folate status. Having a low maternal folate status is a risk factor in the development of neural tube defects in the developing foetus1. Vitamin D contributes to normal bones, teeth and muscle function1.

Folate is the natural form of Vitamin B9 as found in foods, folic acid is a synthetic version often used in supplements8. At Fushi, we always prefer to choose the natural option whenever possible, and we have therefore used the premium source of this vitamin, Methyltetrahydrofolate, in our Pregnancy Nurture blend.

We have included iron, which has a role in the process of cell division, and contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Iron can also contribute to normal cognitive function and normal function of the immune system, all-important in pregnancy1. The form of iron we have included has also been shown to be gentler on the stomach during pregnancy10.

The Seagreens® in Fushi Pregnancy Nurture blend provides iodine at 200 µg/day, this is the higher amount recommended by the European Food Safety Authority for pregnancy7. Iodine contributes to normal thyroid function, cognition and functioning of the nervous system1.
